Engine is stripped and crank cases have been split open, the culprit is the input shaft bearing has blown... Mad

Cleaned out the debris and as you see the outer race is still seated in the case, but the debris from the blown bearing has gouged and smashed some of the casing behind the bearing.

This is a picture of the same area, from the Haynes, showing the bearing in situ, there also looks to be some kind of pin in the center. That has been seared off on my casing, its the piece shown in the first picture Embarassed

Again, bummer! Any chance of picking up a s/h casing off Flea-bay or similar?

I'm keeping my eyes out for a secondhand casing or complete engine.. One was on ebay a while ago, typically when I didn't need one.... Now no where to be seen tongue

Bad news with the engine mate Sad i had a bearing go like that once and i used a Dremel tool thingy to gently grind it away, careful not to break though to the aluminium casing. Any idea what the pin was for ? if you're careful you could probably drill and tap the casing in the right place and put a small bolt/screw the same size and depth through to act in its place until you find another casing.
