Agree, it's always an issue with siting plates on bikes with shortened rear ends, but I prefer the back of the seat location to the one down by the rear wheel. Just be careful when trimming down the new plate, any marks or deformation of the characters may wind up in an MOT fail. Good luck!

well an interesting week tried to get the engine running better and invested in carb balancers , checked the timing and all looked good but the lh carb didn't seam to want to adjust . i stripped it down and found a staple in the idle jet and thought my luck was in . then found that the choke cable was a bit tight and de adjusted that and lost the rh cylinder. so stripped the rh carb down again not to find any issues. went back to timing and frustrated myself thinking this must be the issue but later convinced myself all was correct making a degrees disc . so back to the carbs again both off and stripped and played spot the difference . lh one that works but cant adjust and rh one that wont at all on idle but will on choke ...then i found this the small hole below the choke hole looked to have a broken screw in so had just dismissed it thinking if it sealed then ied just leave it like that . so compared the other carb and the same on that one . so out the smallest drill bit came . and it seams that both over time had carbon up with old fuel to something the constancy of alloy . all cleaned and re fitted only to find the battery was flat after all the timing issues. so today is the big day , have i solved my problem? or have i cut out an important broken screw .

well after start up no real difference , that has has really confused me , im going to have to start again .lh cyl is very strong rh cylinder has certainly lost some compression so ill borrow a smoke machine to test the valves and rings. i can still adjust the rh carb on the carb balancer that fires week. but the lh one will only slightly adjust and that fires strong . might even swap the carbs over to confirm. at worst im looking at 2 new carbs a set of rings and some gaskets . hopefully.

sounds like you're having a frustrating time, little fiddly things like that do my head in LOL. especially right at the end of a build, good luck for the next few days anyway and hope you get it running ok

Yeah I think I have enough room for another . Definitely a few thinks I ed do differently . But I'm pretty chuffed with how the guzzi turned out just going to enjoy it while the weather's good . Loving the sound of the v twin . I've had a pretty bad back injury so just being out on a bike is a pleasure I've really missed . Glad you like it bud

well after a long time im getting back on the v50 . its been in the garage under covers. ive had some improvements in my back so im feeling confident about getting the bike out again . i have decided and ordered some new suspension all round to give myself a chance .
some hagon rear shocks that have some give but adjustable . and a Pair of Wirth progressive fork springs also on order are some Fork Damper FAC Pair that are on back order so ill have to wait for a bit for them . should be an all round improvement for the guzzi.
