been her 20 years now mate!! came when i was 47, it was a good life No not any more, political dissaster! as for the rest, life in the mountains, great friends, wonderfull summers etc, SO I GUESS I WILLL STAY- not many cafe racers here!!! if you build one you can never put it on the road, sad story!!!!!!

Had a weekend in Florence a few years back and loved the Italian life style, think the politics in any country is bollox as for cafe racer building how come you cant get it on the road ? why not go for a Ducati and modify it.

I have a Ducati 888 and love it, would be a dream come true to ride her in the Italian mountains

the problems are that any vehicle car or bike which does NOT have manufacturers omologatio number can never obtain a number plate, worse than that, old classic bikes which the owner took off the number plate and returned it to the motor authorities can not re register that bike unless he is a member of classic vehicle club, and even then the cost is most times higher than it would cost to buy one with plates, any modifications are not accepted!!! and have big big fines if caught!! in Italy there are huge barns full of classic bikes!! they wont sell because thay are waiting for the day when the laws are changed in line with europe and make a fortune. some private sellers in Italy are selling to UK and Urope at very good prices, thats how things are mate. Can you not buy a bike from England and run it over there, obviously the down side is you would have to return to get an mot but my mate does the this on his streetfighter that he has in spain ?
