w650 aluminium goldstar tank

hi all

i'm looking for a few people who would like to cafe racer their w650.I'm not selling or connected with this company in anyway but i'm trying to get a goldstar tank made for my w650 and the guy will only make it if he has a order of about 10.
I have looked around the web and the one's out there seem over priced or dont't look right or need modifing to fit,tony at holtworks will make it based around the base of a w650 tank so will bolt straight on with out modification to tank or seat.

i was after a w650 for ages but could never find one at an affordable price, brilliant engine and perfect styling to create a period looking cafe racer with modern reliabilty but to find 10 like minded people might prove near on impossible, its best to find someone else who specializes in one offs theres plenty of decent fabricators out there
the The Tank Shop in Dumfries will do it but theres a 40 wk waiting list ,im also after a tank for an a50 but i think all the other a50 owners are after the same ive bid on 2 now on ebay both have gone balistic on price so the hunt continues

out of curiosity what would be his price on 10???

Thanks for the reply,i thought cafe racer's are all the rage at the moment(not so).
The tank and seat i have seen on the web are about £1500 for seat and tank,but the tank didn't look right around the headstock.
I have looked around and there's not many people who make a tank for the W,but managed to find holtworks who are willing but need a minimum order.The tank should be around £500 but won't know until i can get enough people interested.

Hi Jimmy, first up, welcome, nice to see another member.

Problem is there are so many disparate versions of cafe racers, from the 'purists' with their original Tritons and Trisbas, to people like me, working with mid-70s Jap bikes and others going way beyond that it's gong to be difficult to find another 10 Kwaka enthusiasts.

Having said that, is there a forum for W650 owners who might be interested in taking their machines beyond 'vanilla'?
