| Morning all,
Instead of my usual habit of ripping stuff to bits and chucking it in far flung corners of the garage, never to be seen again. I have decided to take the slow considered approach to this project.
Seen as how the Z750 has instruments the size of dinner plates, I have decided I want mini a speedo and tacho. They come in various ratios. Does anyone know what they are on a 1980 Z750E.
Question 2. What's the advantage of powder coating over paint. I've got a bucket load of black Rustoleum paint I was going to use on the frame but that may be a false economy.
Question 3. What's a reasonable price to pay for vapour/aqua blasting a stripped engine and a few other bits?. | |

| My CB engine set me back £120 from FJ MOTORCYCLES and they did a superb job. If you do get them aqua blasted, please make sure you jet wash them throughly and blast out with the air line. | |

| Miffa your, right further digging on the net says 1:2 as well. 50% sure the tacho is 7:1 but I'm taking the engine to bits anyway, so I'll have a look at the cogs while its in bits to confirm. Mig, what's in the water that'll block yer passages? . (Ooooo err missus!). I thought aqua blasting was just high pressure water, is there grit in it as well? | |

| I think Mig is saying when you get it back give it a wash through as bits of flaking paint and scale from corroded alloy can get lodged in oilways etc. Better safe than sorry! | |

| Aqua blasting uses high pressure water with glass beads to cause the abrasion. So if any are particles are left in your oil ways they can do some serious damage. It's got to be worth getting piss wet for half an hour. Rather than rebuilding a rebuilt motor. | |
