1978 cb 550 cafe project help

hello everyone i have a 78 cb 550 ,im looking to install a better front end,i will be using a 2005 zx10 set up but im not sure how to make the upper tree work with this bike,so is there a company out there with custom adapters to fit that front end or do i need to have the tress custom made,any imfo would really help.thanks

Have you measured the diameter of the ZX10 forks? There may be enough meat on your existing yokes to have them turned out by your friendly local engineering shop. Otherwise it's custom jobbies I'm afraid.

Depends where you are, but a Google for 'custom yokes' turned up (no pun intended) half a dozen companies dotted all round the UK.

On the flipside, could you not use the ZX triple clamps and convert the CB to taper bearings. You may need to modify the centre tube on the clamps but may be cheaper than commissioning custom triples.
