Trying to clean the Carbs to my 1980 xs1100. Ive got the carburator out but am having problems with some of the screws on top of the diaphram covers. A couple screws are getting lightly stripped. Is there any way i can avoid stripping them so i can get to Cleaning them :)someone HELP lol im new and want to get this baby started

try an easy out or left handed drill or you could try but be bloody careful nipping the screw heads in a vice and twist to release

find a local bike shop and ask if they will do it might cost a couple of bucks

soak in wd40 then put them in a wooden vice or work mate and use a impact driver on them ,dont worry about damaging the heads if they have started to strip replace with socket head bolts

just be ultra carefull with the diaphams they cost a fortune to replace
