| Hi all, Im Si, 33 years old from Chester. I'm an engine casting die maintenance tech, good with the tools, ok on electrics, damn good at welding (even if I do say so myself haha)...
The bug has been lurking for a while, but after years of pondering, perusing the t'interweb, watching cafe racer etc etc The bug has well and truly bitten.
Have had a pretty sh1tty few years, and have now decided that life is too short to put things off and to do what I've wanted to do for years... Build my own Cafe Racer :-)
Looking at some of the projects you ppl have done has filled me with awe, amazement, and a fair bit of jealousy haha.
I'm guessing I'm gonna need a bit of help at times, and although I'm technically minded and very hands on, this is all a bit new. So go easy on me please ;-)
Anyway, thats enough waffling about me... Si | |

| Hi Miffa, Bike will be a Honda CB400N SuperDream. Almost had one a couple of weeks ago off ebay, but lost 3G connection and got outbid at the end grrr. Will have to keep looking... A few reasons for my choice: Nice little bikes (imho), Only bike I've had any experience of fixing (mate had one years ago), Loads of spare parts available, Love the name lol. I've already started stockpiling bits n bobs and consumables, but just need a bike to stick em on... 1978 would be ideal, so it would be the same age as me, but obviously that isnt a 'must' haha If you know of any, let me know! And yes, when the project finally gets going I will post lots of pics Si | |

| [img] [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][/img] Behold the child-like innocence and naivety of my sketch...This is kinda what I'm aiming for. Allegedly it is a Honda CB400N SuperDream. Ignore the wheels and tyres, I can't draw circles for s**t haha. And I just happened to have a red coloured pencil, but I do like red n white. I guess that colour combo has been done to death tho... Obviously the eagle eyed will notice that this is not a scaled engineering drawing, so there will be fitment issues when the build starts lol. Junking the air cleaner and reciting battery n electrics to open up space etc. And length of seat will depend on how I fit on it... Scribbling is one thing, doing is another... Just need a bike... | hello, you might have alot more luck finding a cb250n , they sold loads of them in the pre 125 learner days. same as suzuki gsx 250's, the 400's are much harder to find. | |
