Newbie from Scotland Empty
PostSubject: Newbie from Scotland   Newbie from Scotland EmptyMon Oct 03, 2011 8:44 am

Hi Peeps,

I'm Steven from Scotland, got my first bike at the age of 10 and still doing it at 49.

At the moment I'm down to 2 bikes one being a HD SE Road Glide and the other a GPZ 600r which I turned into a street fighter in 1994.

It's sat in the cornner of the garage for the last 15 years, so I'm thinking cafe racer to keep busy this winter.

Looks a great site with plenty of good info....

Cheers
Steven

Welcome Steven, wherabouts in Scotland are you? There's a couple of us on this site, although there seems to be a lot of people sign up, post a couple of times then vanish like morning mist!

OK, 1st, do you have a bike? If so what is it?

If you have a bike Google your make and model with the words "cafe racer images" and see what comes up. You'll be amazed just what people will stick a set of clip on handlebars and rear-set controls on to try and capture the late '50's cafe race spirit.

Oddly enough, your home country has taken the cafe racer idiom to heart, I find it easier to get custom parts for my CB750 from the US than I do here in the UK!

Either way you are amongst like minded sould and more than welcome. Ask away.
