Number Plate Empty
PostSubject: Number Plate   Number Plate EmptyWed Jun 13, 2012 2:56 pm

I wonder if I can tap into the wealth of knowledge from the authors and bike builders, I have a GP100 I’ve been building for a while and I’ve run in to a problem. I wanted a short back end and fabricated one out of steel. Now I can’t see a way of fitting a number plate without spoiling the look.
Can any one help?

You could go German and look at the wrap around style or American and mount it off the swing arm

My pal has a Gixer 'fighter with a Speedfab aftermarket swinging arm. He's fitted a bracket and light to the left hand side a la Americane and I must admit it looks pretty cool.

down to personal choice really steve
built a few chops and mounted them on the side but i was forever catching them on gate posts and even ripped one off on a parked car

got to be honest ive never liked side mounted plates on cafe racer styled bikes i always think mounting them on a bracket or some kind of tail tidy behind the seat gives them a more streamlined look
