| I'm looking to start a cafe racer project, but want to stick to a 125cc engine...
I've been looking mainly at the honda cb 125, but I was wondering if there were any others people could recommend?

| Hi Newb, welcome aboard. Nowt wrong with the CB125, if you can find one the Suzuki GP125 is a good bike as well, the Yamaha RS is the right shape too. Take a look here, there are lots of images which might give you food for though: http://classic-motorbikes.net/gallery-home.php | |

| welcome! If i was able to build a chopper from a 125 and get that accepted by the big bike boys you can certainly build a cafe from a 125 . There are a few examples of some cracking 125 builds on here. Go for it and remember its your bike so as long as you like it thats all that matters! | |

| Thanks for all the advice! I only have my cbt, and to be honest I'm only using it for buzzing around the country lanes around my area in the summer so no need for a bigger engine, my current 125 runs like a dream through the curves and cambers anyway!
I've been looking more a cb125s but I'm struggling to find cafe style parts, and there seems to be a lack of them on ebay really. I found a rather nice '81 cg125 for about 600 nicker, but not sure if its the kind of thing I want to dismantle....

| Can definitely see the potential in that. Cafe style the seat either by trimming that one ( although it looks in too good a condition to do that really ) or buying a cafe style base off eBay. Set of clubmans or clipons and your starting to get there. Then its a case of rear sets ( if you want ) tweaking the engine for slightly more power ( again if you want to ) and trying to save some weight. Could be a cracking little cafe bike that.
