Hi All ,

just come to my senses and realised I've had enough of plastic rockets

On the lookout for a finished caff' racer to start me off and then probabaly a project bike to work on over the Winter. Any of you chaps got ideas on the best place to start looking? Ideally a Trumpet or poss, Ducati in mind. I want to get back into the whole rocker thing and am guessing "The Ace" might be a bit too diluted - where's the best place to go see/meet guys who really know their bikes?

For a finished cafe try e-bay. Because they search on words as well as model specifics if you put in cafe racer there's about 30-40 of them on there at present.

As for the Ace, last time I was there about 18 months ago it was tourists and wanna-bes during the day, but there's still a lot of 'proper' bikers after dark!

Gonna take Mr.Miff's advice and buy a "caffer" early next year to take "advantage of the market" (i.e. some poor impoverished sod who's gotta get rid a bit swift)

As a starter I really like the look of the Duke sport 1000 with the Zard pipes.........(whaddya reckon guys, bit Ken and Barbie)? Much prefer something British, but sat on a Thruxton recently and it felt like a phuqqin' mini-moto underneath my fat arse!

Well up for meeting anyone off this forum next year at the "Arse" cafe or anywhere else, to talk Caffs and compare greasy leathers
