| Hello there everyone. How are you all? I'm Brian, from Ireland and I have decided to build a cafe racer as I love the look of them. I bought a suzuki gsx 200 from a guy missing an engine for next to no money, I then went out a bought another suzuki gsx 200 custom complete for not much more. I have stopped the first frame down and cut the rear off. I've added a loop and I have the seat sorted. I didn't like the look of the tank so I went out and bought a honda cb 550 tank and then modified the frame so it would fit. I have a few ideas yet but I thought it was about time I said hello and got some feed back.
Pics to follow.
Thanks Brian | |

| The tank from the gsx250E is the one you want, are both your frames gsx250T ? They are a good bike for cafe's. Custom models are not so good because of long forks & odd sized wheels & peanut tanks | |

| Hi Mike, yeah both the frames are gsx250's. To be honest I only bought the custom for the spoked wheels and a few bits I was missing from the first one. Still not sure what engine I'll be using yet. I will be either using the original gsx250 or a gas gas 300 two stroke. | |

| Its never been a busy forum, prob because you can,t post pics direct from your phone. The E & T frames are slightly different, mainly in the mounting of the tank seat & side panels, did you say you had an "E" frame as well, did it not have a tank ? I,d stick with the original engine, they,re quite good, & plenty about. | |

| I have 1 of each of the frames, Tho I didn't know that to there now. The frame I bought without an engine is the one I'm using, the one I bought for the engine is slightly different, it didn't come with a tank or a seat. The tank looks to mount slightly further back on it. The honda tank I bought is a nicer shape anyway but wouldn't fit over the top tube, So I had to modify the frame to get it to fit. | |
