| 1971 Ducati 250cc Mark III 'Minerva' Café Racer - to be sold by Bonhams Auctioneers at the Paris sale - 5th February 2015 1971 Ducati 250cc Mark III 'Minerva' Café Racer Frame no. 102353.The European custom motorcycle scene has never been more vibrant, with modern reinterpretations of the traditional 'café racer', such as that offered here, very much in vogue. This Ducati Mark III was in its second owner's hands from 1974 to 2013 when it was sold to the current vendor. Modified and rebuilt by him over the succeeding 12 months, it was a concours winner at the Italian Motorcycle Championship Official Custom Show in May 2014 (certificate on file). Featuring padauk, maple, ebony and mother-of-pearl inlays, applied using traditional marquetry and cabinet making techniques, the hand-made fairing is a masterpiece. This unique, award-winning motorcycle comes with sundry invoices and Italian registration papers, including its original libretto.
