PostSubject: Hey people!   Hey people! EmptySun Sep 14, 2014 1:56 am

Hi guys (and girls, if there are any here?),
I'm Ben and I work with a guy called Markus for a little shop we call Omega Racer parts. Basically put, we supply cafe racer style parts for the old and new Yamaha SR 400 and 500, the XT 500, the XS650, the Honda CB750 and the Kawasaki W650.

We specialise in providing aluminium fairing and fuel tanks for a few of those models, but which can also be easily adapted to suit other bikes.

For some references you can check out the latest bike exif post which includes one of our fairings!
We have been around for a few years now and are building up our stock continuously, so anything we don't have in stock now, can most-likely be sourced and added in the future.

Anyway, it's nice to be here, and to meet you all.

Welcome aboard, some idea of where you are or a website link would be useful, I for one could be interested in shiny bits for my CB750 cafe project!

Unfortunately as we're new on here, we can't post links for at least a week.
Our site, however is easily found by Google'ing the name Omega Racer, or by visiting www dot omegaracer dot com

We are always trying to increase our stock, and the CB750 is something we want to focus on at the moment, so if you are looking for something specific, or have any suggestions, let us know!

OK, found you, unfortunately I'm in the UK and bringing stuff in from the US is prohibitively expensive because apart from the shipping costs we also have to add Import Duty and our local tax (VAT) which is charged at 20% of the total cost including shipment and duty.

I bought a set of velocity stacks from a guy outside Milwaukee last year and the initial $82 (approx £52) wound up costing me £112 ($180)!

Wow, over twice the price! I hope it was worth it!

Sorry, I missed that you asked where we are based. We are actually located in Thailand, though I, myself, am from Kent, UK, and Markus is Italian.

We send our products worldwide and so far have had no issues with UK customs as far as we know. Or if we have, our customers haven't mentioned it.

Our products are extremely reasonably priced and even if the risk doesn't pay off and you end up having to pay a percentage for import duty, the chances are that you will still be getting good value for money (especially with regards to our aluminium tanks and fairings!).

Fair comment, they probably will be cheaper than anything we can get here, it's not actually a problem with customs and you can sometimes get round it, I bought a rear spoiler for my old BMW from a company in Thailand, it arrived marked 'Sample product, no commercial value' and didn't attract VAT or duty.

I bought an alloy tank for my Bonnie project a fair few years back from Unity Equip here in the UK, it was custom made and came in at over £300 and that was back in 2004!

In case you never saw it here's the link for my Bonnie, as you can see, I do like shiny bits!

Man, I was looking at your pics and thinking 'Yep, he's done well there.' Then I saw the later pics. That's a seriously cool bike.

In a few days I'll post up some pics of our work, once we are allowed to do so. I think you'll like it!

I just checked on the DVLA website, it's a slow day at work :-) and it has been SORN'd since March when the MOT ran out. It changed hands back in 2011 for £5750, I cannot imagine having paid that much for it and not having it on the road for the Summer!

Thanks.
We've just finished an aluminium full fairing kit for the Yamaha SR. With any luck, by the time we are allowed to post pics on here we'll have some good shots to show!

Some good news and some bad...

Full fairing kit has been delayed after the prototype was damaged Sad

Good news is that we can probably put up some pics now!

Here's a project we had a hand in recently. We provided Christian at ExesoR Motorcycles with a fairing, tank and some engine cooling fins. He went on to create this:

It's all detailed on our blog here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
And on BikeExif here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Another recent project from a guy called Gian in Italy:

For this we provided the tank, side covers, front fender, exhaust and the seat cowl, but not the green paint!

Here's our current workhorse sporting a few of our custom aluminium shiney bits including our new [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

And here's an example of one of out tanks; a new 'brat' tank we had made up for the Kawasaki W650:

I really love that new tank, but I don't have a w650 to put it on Crying or Very sad
