Hello, taking my cbt next Friday and planning on picking up my first bike soon afterwards.

I'm going to go for the cafe racer look with it, and I've got around £1000 to spend. I've been looking primarily at ybr125's as there's a few around, but I've recently seen a real beaut of a Honda en125 that's made me think about broadening my horizons a bit.

Any other suggestions? Realistically I'll be keeping the bike for around a year until I get my full licence and get something bigger so don't want to spend too much, but I do like to tinker with things!

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I am in the middle of giving a Honda CG125 a cafe racer look.
It's a 25 year old bike so it's restoration combined with conversion !!
Small Hondas are probably a good bet as a starter project. Quite small and easy to work on, reliable and parts are easy to come by (even for my old bike)
My project is my first and if all goes well I hope to do a bigger bike in the future.
Keep us posted on how you progress and what bike you decide on. Once you start the build open a thread in the projects section, you will find you will get plenty of help from experienced builders on here, I have !!
Cheers

Mike

Thanks Mike, I've seen a few cg125's around so they were on the list!

some of them ybr125's have a small fairing around the front, it's probably easier if you go with a bike already with a single headlight, that way you already have the single light and bracketry. saving you a bit of time and money before you start (if you want the old fashioned look that is Smile )
