| Gift at that price Miffa, I'm keeping my eyes open up here for sommat similar, Gumtree seems to be the best place, E-bay they are always "Fast appreciating classics" and priced like they just came out of the showroom! | |

ran it up and down the street seems ok-ish ,but set me crotch on fire sitting on bare wires and no seat
paul did you sell the xjr?? Eeek, always useful to have a fire extinguisher handy on test runs. I set fire to a mini cooper we were restoring about 15 years ago, I'd made an airbox into the front bulkhead to take the trumpets on a set of Weber carbs. Took the car for a test run and had a bunch of rags stuffed in the hole in the dash to stop the wind whistling round our ears. Decelerating into a corner and the carbs backfired, setting the rags and bonnet insulation alight. Managed to get it home and on to the drive where luckily my pal's Dad was on hand with an extinguisher and put the flames out before the whole car went up! And yes, I had to let the XJR go, redundancy and mortgage payments dictated | |
