PostSubject: Hello from down kent   Hello from down kent EmptyMon Feb 18, 2013 12:41 pm

hi guys n gals

loved cafe racers for a while now and thort id get my self on a fourm to start the ball to my first cafe racer project

So to start off with sorry for my realy bad spelling im dysleix ( lazy )

so im 18 i ride a hornet 600 1999 and love rideing it lovely handaling lovely power even at 33bhp. ive had a Xj600 in the past and resotred that from a right reck in to a lovely bike and after being abel to almost anything to any of my bikes i fell im ready to start out in cafe racers.

love the look of them love the rideing position of one and was going to order a load of parts to begin to turn my xj in to a kind of cafe racer but it blow up and had to sell it on.

at the moment im a aprentice paint sprayer so i know how to paint and i know people who can help me weld so thats a great start.

but where im totaly lost is what bike to buy to start tunring in to a cafe racer. i prefrably want a 2 smoke and a old one where theres no laws on noise. also im on a very tight budget being an aprrntise so would be after a cheeper end bike and a smaller cc bike because of my restriction. Sad so guys and girls hope to talk to u all soon

hello jimmy, problem is most 2 strokes over about 15 bhp are going to cost you alot of money, especially old ones, ie pre 85 . might be better looking at some 4 strokes in the 250 - 500 bracket .
