| Hi all Been riding bikes for over 30 yrs and still aint done my test  , will get round to it one day. just starting to work on my Yamaha XS400 DOHC cafe racer conversion so I may well be asking for advice ( lots of advice ), my XS came with a set of renthal bars which I have now put on the right way round and it looks a lot better lol. | i would say an xs 400 is one of the best jap bikes to cafe,air cooled, twin cyl, tank is good shape, just get your clip ons & seat sorted, then your footpegs, ie; riding position & go from there, are they 4 or 8 valve ? | |

| The XS's are 4 valve up to 400 not sure about higher CC engines, mine is the DOHC model and is more squarer than the SOHC version

| looks alot more modern than i was thinking, not seen one like that, is it an import ? its not going to be as easy to cafe as the old sort, but not impossible. like to see it when its done. | |
