Hello from Wakefield Empty
PostSubject: Hello from Wakefield   Hello from Wakefield EmptyTue Oct 11, 2011 5:03 am

Hi. My name is Jon and I am an alco....... er..... wrong forum...... My name is Jon and I am from Wakefield. Just bought myself a 1978 Honda CB750KZ that I am hoping to turn in to cafe racer or possibly a flat tracker, or maybe a cross between the two even.

Picked up the bike at the weekend and yesterday I got all the bodywork stripped off. Needs a bit of work to firstly get it recommissioned as it has been off the road in the back of a guys garage for the last 20 years, but then the conversion works will start if I can get it running.

Dont know much about the model to be honest. I know it was previously registered overseas but dont know where. I know it is one of the first DOHC model CB750's. Other than that though I am struggling to find much out about. Any help in this would be greatly received.

My other bike by the way is a 2009 Kawasaki ZZR1400 Very Happy

Hi Jon and welcome. Doing a CB750F2 myself so you're in good company.

Lots of options out there for the big Honda's, lots of folks Stateside have taken the sohc and dohc 750 to heart.

If you haven't seen him check out Steve 'Carpy' Carpenter's site for some inspiration and good links [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

There's also a good Honda forum [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] which whilst it says sohc they don't mind helping out on other bikes.

Get some photos up and come back soon and often! Paul
