Hello all, this seems like a nice friendly fourm, loving alot/all of the projects that your all up to.
Although Im no expert mechanic.. far from it.. feel like this cafe lark is for me.
Ive just given up my daily vfr800 hack life in favor of 4 wheels, hey after 12/13 years I feel ive done my bit! and just cant face another winter, esp as my job is outdoors everyday.
However I need a bike in my life, something with less power, something I can do all the work on and modify to suit, cafe seems the way forward..
Tidying up the shed earlier I stumbled across this.... suitable cafe racer project?
Dragged it out of the shed..
Photo from 2/3 years ago when servicing her (only to bury it untill now in the shed of dread)
Ive got a very decent Mig welder that ive been pratcing with for the last year, angle grinder and hack saw.. check
Question is, do you think this is suitable? its 33bhp restricted, my little bro may want a 33bhp bike when and if he passes his test, in witch case I would loan him this, either as it is, or as a cool as funk cafe racer. More than happy to ride it myself, but not as it look at the mo.....
last time I had it running it was smoking a bit from one exhaust.. lack of use? also had a small coolant leak from the head gasket area? but it seamed to seal itsself. engine sounded alright (to my untrained ears)
Cheers guys, R
