New member with a request for help

I hope that the combined expertise on here can help me in my quest.

I live up in Forfar in Angus, Scotland and have an interesting challenge looming.

My interest in cafe racers and in motorbikes in general is only a new thing, and it all surrounds the following, so I may as well explain all.

My colleagues and I at work have devised up a challenge that we are doing in September.

Basically is it a "Top Gear" style challenge where we have to purchase a bike that meets certain criteria and then perform a number of tasks afterwards.

The rules are as follows:

Any 50cc moped/scooter/motorbike. Engine must be no more than 50cc.
It must be able to carry rider plus one passenger.
It must cost no more than £325 and this must include it either having an MOT or it has to be paid for from the budget.

There are plenty of modern scooters out there and I will consider them if running out of time, but I am far more interested in older "caferacer" type bikes and motorbikes.

I am therefore hoping that someone on here will have such a machine that they are happy to part with. I dont mind if it needs some work, as I will be keeping it after the challenge long term, hence the desire for something I really like. Probably better that its not a complete wreck though.

I am willing to travel all over the UK for the right bike.

Hi and welcome. I'd be looking at E-bay, and also Gumtree for your project (obviously asking on here doesn't harm either!) Sounds interesting (and good fun) what are the tasks?

If there's anything you need advice or bits wise feel free to pm me, I'm in Livingston but I travel extensively for my job and a trip to Forfar isn't out of the equation!
