| Cheers Beekeeper,
I'm just waiting for the third disaster to come my way.
1. Monday 6th Feb - my office and warehouse burnt down (due to twats in next unit welding misshap). 2. Tuesday 14th Feb, my Birthday - come down with bronchial chest infection. 3. ???
Other than that, lifes just peachy, as my Cafe fired up a treat, just needs painting. | |

| i'm rather anal when it comes to welding and will hang round checking stuff for an hour to make sure nothings alight. having said that, i've seen three garages go up within two square blocks of our place. and dont get me on the subject of setting myself on fire | |

| Dangerous thing, welding. A very good friend was helping me weld the subframe on an old Lancia, we were taking in turns lying under the old heap and trying to patch up enough of the colander-like floorpan with an arc welder to get it through it's MOT. Steve was happily chipping off the slag on his latest weld, I'm standing by with the fire extinguisher, when there comes a blood curdling scream from beneath the car, followed by a series of loud thumps. Turns out he had put his finger on the weld (fek knows why) without realising he was lying on the electrode. The scream was as he tried to weld the car with his fingertip, and the series of thumps was his head connecting with the underside of said car whilst trying desperately to suck on aformentioned digit! | |

| i always weld in a t-shirt and no gloves.
yes sparks hurt but they bounce off, unless your wearing long sleeves for them to go down and they melt through your arm.
earphones are also good for both music and stopping aforementioned sparks from doing a little dance on the way to your ear drum.
that 'urts. | |
