George White Motorcycles - The End Empty
PostSubject: George White Motorcycles - The End   George White Motorcycles - The End EmptyThu Jan 19, 2012 8:19 am

Popped into my local branch in Plymouth today only to find it has ceased trading.
A quick check on the internet revealed that George Whites have called in the administrators, and have closed down all their branches and made all their staff redundant.
It was only last Summer that I was reading about them opening a new branch in Edinburgh, and a race school.
What a shame.
Memories of the demise of Carnell and Motorcycle city many years ago spring to mind.
GW's were the last of the big chains and now they've gone.
It's all very sad.
Maybe the glory days of motorcycling, where every man woman and their dogs were buying bikes, are now over.
All very sad.
Sympathies to the staff who in my local branch, were salt of the earth.
I'll miss them.
Sad
